My motivation to write to U or about U has seemed to have fallen in between laziness and frustration. While it was a pleasant surprise to entertain U twice in one month this summer (sarcastic thanks!), it was a bit of an irritation having to take you along for what should have been some period-free summer fun.
While I was hoping for some different outcomes this autumn, so far U’ve managed to repeat yourself with an “extra” visit this month! I feel that no matter what I plan for, or try to plan for, it never really turns out as expected. And although I am upset, I find Ur unpredictable behaviour to be one of the many wonderful characteristics I love about you!
You certainly do know how to keep a girl on her toes.
Although the pages of Dropsofscarlet have been a bit bare, I am not without some interesting leads. In addition to making a point to communicate more with U this season, I am going to research some alternative options to ease menstrual pain (I might even try one or two, or share my story of trying some of the ones I’ve already given up on), post a book review or two (yes I am actually trying to finish one book before starting another) and I also want to do a bit more research on menstrual tracking mobile apps, as they are becoming more and more popular. And, if any of my readers have ideas, I’d love to hear them!
One thing I’ve noticed over the last year is that it appears U have some resistance towards me relying on a technological device to track the symptoms of my menstrual cycle.
I have to ask: “If I were to no longer use a menstrual mobile app to track U, would U be more kind?”.
A girl can wish can’t she?
With the way things have been going the last little while, I will admit that I am a bit irritated at how my App has potentially lied to me about when to expect U. However, I think I needed this; the reminder that, as women, we need to actually pay attention to what our bodies are telling us, even if we have a bit of help from technology along the way.
And so once again I am going to try “embracing” U. I’m not quite sure how it will turn out, but I don’t have much to lose at this point.
